Casey McCrossin, a fifth-grade student in the “Explorers” team was named February Student of the Month by his teachers Mrs. Deede Duncan and Mrs. Jola Hebert.
The CMS team teachers stated, “Casey is a kind and considerate fifth-grader who always has a genuine smile on his face. He is the first one to offer a helping hand to his classmates and teachers and his friends describe him as, ‘funny, thoughtful and very, very nice.’” Casey plays the violin in the school orchestra and loves to go hunting with his father.
Noah Cousins, was selected to be the February Student of the Month from the grade-five “Brainiacs” team by his teachers Mrs. Nella Ouellette and Mrs. Cindy Levasseur.
The CMS staff members said, “Noah plays the violin, is a member of strings and will represent our team at the Young Author’s Institute in March. He is a great example of a responsible student.”
Mason Huck, a sixth-grade student, was named Student of the Month for February from the “Super-sixers” team, by teachers Ms. Sarah LaJoie and Mrs. Jen Quinlan.
“Mason is polite, kind and respectful to all of his teachers and classmates,” said his teachers, “he is a great team member, as he puts forth his best effort every single day. He always has his work done on time and often contributes to class discussion.”
“Mason’s friendly personality and great sense of humor make him well liked and respected by his peers,” continued the CMS instructors, “over the past month, Mason’s work has been particularly outstanding, proving that even good work has room for improvement.”
Outside of the classroom, Mason is an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoys playing Little League Baseball.
Gabe Massey, a member of the “Six-ceeders” team, was selected to be February’s Student of the Month by his teachers Mr. John Pelletier, Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mrs. Cathy Bouchard.
The CMS teachers stated, “Gabe is a very athletically involved student. He participates in many recreation department activities as well as school activities. Even though he is a sixth-grader, he was a member of the seventh-grade basketball team, he also ran crosscountry in the fall and played Rec. soccer. He plays Little League in the summer and has participated on the All-Star team.
“Gabe works hard on his academics as well as being a good school citizen,” added his teachers, “he has made tremendous personal growth throughout his sixth-grade year.”
Nolan Powers has been selected as a seventh-grade Student of the Month for February by team teachers Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mr. Steve Perreault, Mrs. Holly Rhinbebolt and Ms. Shelly Richardson.
The CMS teachers stated, “
Nolan is a conscientious student and very enthusiastic about learning and is a good friend and willing to help others in need. Nolan is very deserving of this recognition.”
Casey Clark, a student in the seventh grade was named Student of the Month for February by her teachers, Mrs. Twyla Learnard, Mrs. Susan Keaton, Mr. John Habeeb, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mr. Steve Perreault and Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt.
The CMS staff members said, “Casey is consistently a hard worker who puts forth effort in everything she attempts. She is always well prepared for her classes, sets an example for her peers in modeling politeness, courtesy and compassion and is honest and cheerful. Casey also enjoys classroom discussions in English Language Arts.”
“Casey has a passion for horses,” continued her teachers, “and likes to read about them. Her positive attitude endears her to staff members and peers alike.”
Ashley Dube was named Student of the Month for February by her grade-eight teachers, Mrs. Jen Rand, Mr. Ralph Fantasia, Mr. Roy Barnes, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper and Mrs. Jessica Dow.
The CMS grade eight teachers stated, “Ashley has been an honor roll student every year during her time at Caribou Middle School. She has been a member of the chorus and band and this year was named to the All-Aroostook band. She was a member of the CMS soccer team and plans to play softball this spring.” “Ashley has been a friendly, helpful and conscientious student,” the teachers added. Outside of school, the grade eight student belongs to Girl Scouts and is active in her church.
Garrick Alley, a member of the CMS eighth grade was named Student of the Month for February by team teachers Mrs. Sue Keaton, Mrs. Twyla Learnard, Mr.Troy Barnes, Mr. Ralph Fantasia, Mrs. Jen Rand, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper and Mrs. Jessica Dow.
The teachers stated, “Garrick is a hard-working conscientious student. He enjoys writing for pleasure and has shared some originally authored stories with his ELA teachers. Even though he has only recently transferred to CMS, Garrick has quickly become a real Viking. He gets along well with his peers, works cooperatively within his classes and is always being polite and courteous.”
