Local residents exercise franchise

    Several municipalities have held town meetings and elections recently. Following are results as reported by town clerks to the Pioneer Times:
New Limerick town meeting
    Selectman — three-year term: Paul Harrison, incumbent, 21 votes.
    Paul Harrison re-elected.
    SAD 70 Director — Darlene Theriault,  incumbent, 21 votes.
    Darlene Theriault re-elected.
    The budget of $404,029.21 was passed.  
Sherman town meeting
    Selectman, Assessor and Overseer of the Poor — three-year term: Jeffrey Packard, incumbent, 59 votes. Write-ins: Robert Patterson, 9 votes; Wade O’Roak, 22 votes; James Troutt, 2 votes.
Jeffrey Packard re-elected.
    Selectman, Assessor and Overseer of the Poor — one-year term: John C. Heath, incumbent, 51 votes. Write-ins: Robert M. Heath, 3 votes; Eugene Irish, 19 votes, Wade O’Roak, 2 votes; Robert Patterson, 1 vote; James Troutt, 9 votes.
    John C. Heath re-elected.
    Director of SAD 25 — three-year term: Philip M. Knowles, incumbent, 82 votes. Write-ins: Robert Patterson, 1 vote; James Perz, 2 votes.
    Philip M. Knowles re-elected.
    The budget of $600,835.21 was passed
Crystal town meeting
    Selectman: Jamie Main, incumbent, 11 votes; Calvin White, incumbent, 14 votes.
    Jamie Main and Calvin White re-elected.
    The budget of $138,719 was passed.
Island Falls town meeting
    Moderator: Frederick Anderson
    Selectman — three-year term: George Clements, incumbent, 99 votes; Paige Coville, 58 votes; Lorraine Daveluy, 5 votes; Sandra Rockwell, 41 votes; Write-ins, 2 votes.
    George Clements re-elected.
    School Board Committee — three-year term: Gregory Ryan 174 votes, Tara Williams, incumbent, 9 write-in votes.
    Gregory Ryan and Tara Williams re-elected.
    The budget of $278,454.31 was passed.
Merrill town meeting
    Moderator: Randy Rockwell
    Selectman – three-year term: Robert Furrow, 15 votes; Thomas Goff, incumbent, 39 votes.
    Thomas Goff re-elected.
    School Board Representative — three-year term: Cynthia Bartman, 48 votes; Trevor London, 4 write-in votes; unmarked ballots, 2.
    Cynthia Bartman sworn in.
    The budget of $155,255.31 was passed.
Smyrna town meeting
    Selectman — three-year term: Kevin Brannen, incumbent, 15 votes; Perry Lilley, incumbent, 14 votes.
    Kevin Brannen and Perry Lilley re-elected.  
    The budget of $201,250.25 was passed.
