Nutting, Ethel, 90, PERHAM, April 10, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the Advent Christian Church. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery immediately following the service. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
PERHAM – Ethel Nutting, 90, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, at her residence while surrounded by her family. She was born March 18, 1920, in Caribou, the daughter of Simon and Grace (Little) Anderson.
Ethel worked hard on the family farm along with her husband, Henry, and together they had a wonderful life. She enjoyed doing ham radio and made many friends through it. Upon their retirement, they traveled all over the country, and missed only the State of Hawaii. Ethel was a member of the Dunntown Advent Christian Church and served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and youth leader.
In addition to her husband, Henry, of Perham, she is survived by a daughter, Joyce Barker, of Perham; five grandchildren: Carol Blackstone, Bruce Barker, Brett Barker, Debra Getty, & Scott Barker, nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind three brothers: Gilbert Anderson of Millinocket, Merrill Anderson and his wife, Delila, of Caribou, and Simon Elbridge Anderson of Berwick; two sisters: Betty Tibbetts of Millinocket and Zelda Wilcox and her husband, George, of Westbrook; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers: Earl, Chester and Ernest Anderson; and four sisters: Levercie Gamblin, Gertrude York, Lulu Dyer, and Marietta Sullivan.
Friends called 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the church with the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery immediately following the service. Following the committal, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.
