She was born June 29, 1926, at Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Alexis V. Beaulieu and Laura (McCormack) Beaulieu.
She was the Matriarch of the Beaulieu family and beloved Aunt and Sister-in-Law to the Dixon Family, and leaves many, many nieces and nephews and their families in Maine and Canada. She was our Mom, Mum, Me mere, Ma tante, Mother-In-Law, Gram, Nana, Nanny, Aunt Phyl, Nana Phyl, and Phyllie Blue Bird, Phyllis, and best friend to many and will live in our hearts forever.
She was happiest when volunteering with the Foster Grandparent Program, PROP, at Young School in Saco. She was assigned to a caring and special kindergarten teacher, Michelle Perreault, and together they enjoyed their classroom of children for eight years.
During the summer, she loved to visit her daughter Tammy’s camp at East Grand Lake in Fosterville, NB, Canada. Her stories of growing up on the Portage in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, were priceless. She experienced many losses during her life that contributed to her exceptional strength and passionate character beginning when her mother died in childbirth with her, and she was raised by five older brothers and her father on the farm and in the family store in years after the Great Depression. She married in 1947, and came to the U.S., where she raised her family. She has lived the past 18 years in Saco, where she met her very dear friends from the Paul Hazelton Senior Citizen Community. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO and occasional trips to play the slots. Her family, friends and music filled a large part of her life. She was a beautiful person and loved by all who had the pleasure of spending time with her. She will be in our hearts forever.
