Ryan Lane, center, of Katahdin High School received the Region Two CTE (Career and Technical education) student of the year award from Congressman Michaud and Don Cannan at an awards ceremony in Lewiston May 1. Lane is a second year Forestry student at Region Two School of Applied Technology. He has been involved in fire safety training along with training in First Aid and CPR.  Ryan has enjoyed learning the proper use of the chain saw as well as the skidder, forwarder, and processer. He plans to attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent to major in Wildlife Biology and minor in Forestry.
