Commander impressed by city’s patriotism
To the editor:
The American Legion Post 88 of Presque Isle wishes to thank the public for their great support of our Memorial Day Parade and activities. At 9 a.m., we had a Memorial Service at Fairmount Cemetery, which was very well attended. The Parade stepped off at 10 a.m. and there was a large turnout to view the Parade.
The Parade stopped at Park Street, where we had another Memorial Service Honoring Naval Veterans. At this site, our Grand Marshall, Bernie Hussey, threw a wreath in the Presque Isle Stream. The Parade continued on to Veterans Park, where a third Memorial Service was held honoring all Veterans, which was very well attended.
There was a large crowd all along Main Street to view the Parade. We appreciate the public’s support and thank the general public for their honoring of our Veterans. Their support makes a great statement about our community and deserves our thanks.
