Gentlemen (and women) start your potatoes
To the editor:
We’re anxiously counting down the days to July 15th – at the 63rd Potato Blossom Festival! We’re taking Caribou Cares About Kids on the road, and going to Potato Blossom w/all the fixings for children 4 to 14 years old to make potato cars, and then race them too! From 10 a.m. to noon everyone can make their cars, and then we’ll begin racing at noon. We’re going to have six categories – and the winners will receive a Mr Potato Head toy! The first 100 children who sign up will receive potato picking gloves, and we have gardening baskets everyone can sign up to win as well (free, free, free)! You won’t want to miss it.
The “fixings” include everything from eyeballs, beads, paint, foam stickies, pompoms, and more – to decorate the potato cars. We are going to come home and do it again during Caribou Cares, in the downtown! So everyone will have a chance to redesign their creations, and revise their cars for Caribou Cares!
Call or stop into the Caribou Chamber of Commerce & Industry and pick up a sign up sheet! We have two major sponsors: MPG and Aroostook Savings & Loan, and we’re so happy for their participation! So put your thinking caps on, think potatoes, racing, and Potato Blossom! It’s not long now!
