PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Irish Setter Pub, located on 710 Main Street, has a few changes in store for its customers.
“We are preparing for outside dining to be available soon,” said Debi Gustin, who owns the establishment along with her husband, Sonny. “It may be late for this season, but will be fully in use next year.”    The Irish Setter Pub has also just recently added wireless internet because of requests from their guests, according to Debi Gustin.    She said new items are also being served for limited times to add to the restaurant’s already varied menu.
The Irish Setter Pub has been open for 4-1/2 years – the last 2-1/2 under the Gustin’s ownership. They lived in Chicago for seven years before returning to Aroostook County. Debi Gustin helped develop training programs at Olive Garden while in the midwest and upon her return was the training manager at Slopes prior to her and Sonny purchasing the Irish Setter Pub.        Offered is a relaxing pub atmosphere with a menu offering a variety of foods, from light snacks to full meals, plus a variety of refreshments sure to appeal to everyone’s tastes.
Debi Gustin said she feels the secret to staying in business in this region is “offering consistency in food and service and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for a great experience.”
She added that customer service is the top priority at the Irish Setter Pub. “Good products and good service bring our guests back and they often recommend us to others,” she said.
With five full-time and 18 part-time employees, they are open Monday-Wednesday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.
The phone number is 764-5400, the web address is www.irishsetterpub.com and the email address is info@irishsetterpub.com.
“The Irish Setter Pub has a good formula for success – happy guests,” said Debi Gustin. “We invite you to try us – we think you’ll like us.”
