The weather has been great for playing golf and the course remains busy. If you are looking to get in a quick round, weekday mornings or weekend afternoons would probably work best. Though we need rain, the greens are soft and receptive and a pleasure to play. There are no scheduled events this Labor Day Weekend, so grab the clubs and enjoy a round of golf.
Twilight League is pretty well wrapped up. The only match left to be played is for the championship. Ben Walker and Dan Cullen with face Chet Chase and Jim Dyer in the 18 hole final. Finishing in a tie for third were Scot Walker/John Smallwood and Steve Edwards/Steve Merry. We are having a two person scramble on Tuesdays as long as daylight will allow. Please try to be at the course by 5:00pm or call the shop and let us know you are coming.
Couples golf on Sunday afternoons is going strong. All are welcome. It is a 3pm start. Winners this week were Stuart and Becky Kelley, second were John and Betty Smallwood and finishing third were Greg Gaynes and Bev Osborn.
Last Wednesday the Upper St. John Valley Seniors were at Vajowa. Greg Douglas had the days best score with 39-37 for a nice 76. Dan Hotham of Presque Isle finished second with 78. Chet Chase rounded out the top three with an 80. Closest to the pin winners were Ron Fournier on 4, Lou Lorenzo on 7, Patrick O’Brien on 11 and Ed Quinlan on 16.
