ORIENT – Earle T. Peabody, 76, died Sept. 22, 2010 at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 5, 1933 at Houlton, the son of Harold A. and Virginia (Cathlene) Peabody.
Earle was a life-long area farmer and carpenter. He was a past member of the Houlton Lodge of Elks and a lifetime member of the Elks National Foundation.
Earle enjoyed spending time with his family at Grand Lake, a good game of cribbage and his John Deere tractor.
Earle is survived by his wife, E. Marie (McPherson) Peabody of Orient; his son, David Peabody and his wife Diana; his daughter, Cheryl Welton and her husband Rick, all of Linneus; two grandchildren, Brandy Reeves and her husband Reggie of Ludlow, John Peabody and his wife Leah of Glenburn; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brianna, Alexa & Isaac; two brothers, Herman Peabody and his wife Kate of Lincoln, Ervin Peabody and his wife Elaine of Bristol, CT; two sisters, Joyce Mitchell and her husband Roger of Westbrook, Pam Peabody of AZ; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his stepmother, Ruth (Crane) Peabody, and his brother, Donald Peabody.
Graveside services were held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Marilyn Rohdin officiating. Gifts may be made in Earle’s memory to Visiting Nurses of Aroostook or the charity of one’s choice c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730.
