What example is being set?

To the editor:
    HPD Corner in the Sept. 22 Pioneer Times reminds us to drive within the speed limit. I admit it — I’ve driven over the speed limit — while Houlton Police, State Police and Sheriff vehicles have all, at various times, passed me going even more over the speed limit. This has happened quite often — no siren, no flashing blue lights.
    Just think of the opportunities that these law enforcement officers could have, every day, to set good examples for the rest of us merely by driving at or under the posted speed limit.
