Greater Houlton Christian Academy competed in a cross-country meet against Presque Isle, Washburn, Caribou, Limestone and Fort Kent.
Winning the girls meet was Caribou with a score of 27, followed by Presque Isle with a 31. Other schools did not have enough participants to qualify as a team.
Placing first in the girls’ division of 41 runners was Presque Isle’s Alecia Palmer, with a time of 18:37, followed by Washburn’s Carsyn Koch, with a time of 18:44. Rounding out the top 10 finishers were third, Carmen Bragg, Washburn, 20:33; fourth, Dayna Michaud, Caribou, 21:00; fifth, Emily Wright, Presque Isle, 21:03; sixth, Natasha Bishop, Caribou,21:12; seventh, Jaylee Fox, Presque Isle, 21:33; eighth, Chelsea Bard, Caribou, 21:46; ninth, Lucy Wilcox, Limestone, 21:59 and 10th, Emily Soderberg, Caribou, 22:08.
Destinee Neureuther led the GHCA girls’ runners with a time of 22:20 for a 14th place finish, while Whitney Cote came in 17th with a time of 22:43. Lauren Robertson ran the course in a time of 25:56 for 36th and two spots behind was Halle Duff with a time of 26:40.
On the boys’ side, Caribou came in first with a score of 16, followed by Presque Isle with a 50; Limestone 83 and GHCA, 98.
Of 54 boys competing, Caribou’s Christian Sleeper was first with a time of 16:16, followed by teammates D.J. Flynn and Caleb Chapman with times of 16:21. Rounding out the top 10 runners were fourth, Jessie Sandstrom, Caribou, 16:23; fifth, Matt Eager, Presque Isle; sixth, Ryan Washington, Caribou, 17:18; seventh, Logan Thibeau, Presque Isle; eighth, Kjetil Rossignol, Caribou, 17:27; ninth, Jake Michaud, Caribou, 17:41 and 10th, Nick Dobson, Caribou, 17:47.
Finishing 18th for GHCA was Micah Wiley; 38th, Russell Socoby and 44th Ethan Holmes. No times were posted for those runners, but Jordan Cummings finished 52nd with a time of 25:11.
