LUDLOW – Joseph G. Clowes 72, died Dec. 26, 2010 at his residence with his son by his side. He was born May 5, 1938 in Houlton, the son of Gerald and Marcia (Parks) Clowes.
Joseph was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of 1956. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army. During his long career in the army, he served as a cannoneer, a gunner, a recon sergeant, a radar repair specialist, and an ATC tower operator. He was very proud of his time with the air borne, receiving several citations and ribbons before retiring in 1986. Joseph enjoyed his Ludlow home and all the many trips traveling with his son.
He is survived by his son Clayton Clowes of Kensington, NH; his brother Terry Clowes of Houlton; three sisters Linda Beaupre of Houlton, Geraldine Richards of Avon, Joyce Marks of NC; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Sandra Fritz.
