Caribou Middle School December Students of the Month

CARIBOU, Maine – Susan White, principal at the Caribou Middle School and staff members recently announced students selected to be CMS Student of the Month for December.

Kaitlyn Nadeau, a grade six student was chosen to be Student of the Month for December, by her teachers Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier.

The CMS teachers stated, “Kaitlyn is a very conscientious student who is always on the honor roll and is extremely polite and respectful to her peers as well as her teachers. When a classmate needs a helping hand with an assignment or anything else, she is the first to volunteer.”

“Kaitlyn constantly has a smile on her face,” her teachers added, “and is well liked by her classmates. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in the school band and is also a member of the sixth – and seventh-grade girls basketball team. Kaitlyn is a pleasure to have in class.”

Katie Clark, is Student of the Month for December on the sixth grade SWAT. Team teachers Ms. Sarah LaJoie and Mrs. Cathy Bouchard said, “Katie is a student that gives 100 percent all the time in class. She is hardworking and enjoys helping others. She is kind to others and is often seen by CMS teachers as doing good deeds for others.”

“Katie participates in the Caribou Middle School band, is a great school citizen and is truly appreciated by everyone,” her teachers added.

Chathu Karunasiri, a grade seven student, was selected as Student of the Month for December by his teachers Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt, Ms. Shelly Richardson and Mr. Steve Perreault. The five instructors stated, “Chathu takes great pride in his school work and strives to learn more each and every day.”

“He is an active member of Caribou Middle School, participating in cross country, the ski team,” said his teachers. “Chathu is a student in the Gifted and Talented Program, the advanced math class and is also on the Energy Team. A leader in the classroom, he is always willing to lend a helpful hand to someone in need.”

Kate Finnemore was named CMS Student of the Month for December by grade seven teachers Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt, Ms. Shelly Richardson and Mr. Steve Perreault.

“Kate is a delightful young lady who always brings a positive attitude and a beautiful smile to her classes,” stated the teachers. “A dedicated student, she produces outstanding work on her own and in group settings. Kate enjoys music and participates in band, chorus, show choir and dance. Teachers and students all enjoy having Kate at our school,” they added.

Kristin Macek, an eighth grade student, was selected CMS Student of the Month for December by teachers Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia. “Kristin was chosen for student of the month because of her positive character and drive to succeed,” stated her teachers.

“A motivated, hard worker, on top of high academic scores, she is a very active eighth-grade student. Kristin is a member of the band and strings groups where she plays several different instruments. She is also a member of the cross country and basketball teams. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys spending time reading and being with her friends,” said her teachers.

Emilee Susi, a member of the eighth grade, was chosen CMS Student of the Month for Decembers by her teachers Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia. “Emilee’s quiet demeanor is proof to her motivation as a student,” said the team teachers, who aded, “she works diligently in class to be the best academic student she can be.”

“Emilee’s involvement at CMS includes participation on the soccer, basketball and track teams. She is also a member of band and chorus, Emilee is a positive example for her classmates,” they said.
