Online art show taking applications

BELFAST — Maine Art Scene has announced the launch of its 2nd annual online artist showcase. Close to 90 artists submitted a combined total of over 400 pieces of art. After very careful consideration by founders Brenda and Thierry Bonneville as well as Maine art collector Sam Mitchell, the selected pieces featured in the exhibit include 65 artists represented by 95 works of art. As with last year’s showcase, the selected works will become part of Maine Art Scene’s permanent art library.
“We were very pleased by the diversity of work submitted this year,” said Brenda Bonneville, editor of Maine Art Scene. “The significant response to our call once again solidifies the fact that Maine enjoys an undeniable abundance of artistic talent. Our goal for the showcase is to provide artists the exposure they deserve and give viewers the opportunity to become familiar with new work.”
“It was great working with Sam because he is an enthusiastic collector of Maine Art”, said Thierry Bonneville media director of Maine Art Scene. “Of the 200 pieces of art he owns, Sam says that he gets joy out of them every day.”
