Changes at The Forum
IN THE CITY
by James Kaiser
The changes promised by the 2011 Presque Isle City Budget are well under way at The Forum. The Recreation and Parks Department and the former Forum Department are busy joining forces to become the single Recreation and Parks Department.
Employees from both facilities are learning new skills as well as adjusting schedules to cover the many tasks they are responsible for.
As with the new “pay as you throw” program being started with the Solid Waste Department, there have been many questions concerning the future of the events held at The Forum.
Rest assured, while these events have been re-examined, new contracts have been sent to all the regular spring shows with the later events’ contracts to be drawn up as each one draws closer.
All the employees are working hard to make this combination successful and The Forum, as part of the Recreation and Parks Department, will continue to provide quality events to Presque Isle.
