To the editor:
Despite repeated rumors of the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center closing after the 2011 World Cup, the hotel remains in full operation.
After several weeks of calls and inquiries regarding circulating rumor(s) that the hotel would be closing after the 2011 World Cup, I wish to assure the public that there is no truth to the rumors. The hospitality industry, both nationally and here in Aroostook County has seen a dramatic downturn in occupancy and revenue due to the continuing economic uncertainty. However, the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center is in full operation. We may look into some slight changes in hours within our operations during the slower months ahead, until business begins to turn around. We have many meeting and banquets coming up, but we still have some prime dates available. Without the community’s support we would not be here and I wish to thank everyone for your continued patronage.
Our name you know, our service you trust. We are locally owned and operated, supporting us supports the local community, the people of Aroostook County and the state of Maine. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to reach me personally at 207-764-3321 or via e-mail at kevin@presqueisleinn.com.
