District Jazz Festival tonight at PIMS
PRESQUE ISLE — The District Jazz Festival, sponsored by the Northern Maine Music Educators Association, will be held from 5-8:30 p.m. tonight — Wednesday, March 2 — at the Presque Isle Middle School auditorium.
Participating in the festival will be jazz bands from Presque Isle, Houlton and Fort Kent.
Middle and high school jazz bands that receive a 74 or higher will advance to the state competition.
The high school state jazz festival will be held March 18-19 at Mount Desert Island High School, while the middle school competition will be held March 26 at Stearns High School in Millinocket.
Admission to tonight’s District Jazz Festival will be $3 for adults and $2 for students.
