WWC to host upcoming events
PRESQUE ISLE — Make time this month for two great opportunities with Women, Work & Community.
ALL for Women: Aroostook Leadership & Learning for Women will be held Thursday, March 24 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. in the Edmunds Conference Center at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle.
What is a leader? Could it be … you? Come learn, network, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon full of fun and stimulating conversations and activities. This all-afternoon conference includes:
12:30 p.m. — Doors open: sign up for workshops and door prizes.
1-2 p.m. — Women’s Leadership Panel with business, civic, and legislative leaders.
2-4 p.m. — Breakout sessions: Choose two sessions, including workshops on Creativity & Risk-Taking, Personal Empowerment, Pursuing Your Passion, and Civic Leadership & Political Advocacy.
4-4:30 p.m. — Closing remarks.
4:30-5:30 p.m. — Networking hour: Afraid of the word “networking?” In our case, it means fabulous door prizes, finger food, a chocolate fountain, and wonderful women. Don’t miss out!
Door prizes donated by WWC entrepreneurs and supporters include a lap-sized “Spring Delight” quilt by Kathy Shaw of Kattz Quilts, Etc., a “Windblown Tulips” wall hanging handmade by Cynthia Harvey, a floral arrangement from Patricia Boucher of Affairs of the Heart Florals, two jars of delicious Robin’s Chocolate Sauce, a $50 gift certificate for print shop products or services from the St. John Valley Times, and a “Sprinter Package” for two (30-minute sled dog ride with campfire and hot chocolate), as well as a “Wilderness Adventure” for two (2-hour sled dog ride tailored to your needs) from Heywood Kennel Sled Dog Adventures. All conference attendees are eligible to win.
Register today by calling 764-0050 or e-mailing erica.quineaster@maine.edu. Registration for the conference is $20 per person or two for $35, so bring a friend and save. Sponsored seats are also available, so don’t let cost be a factor in your decision to be a part of ALL for Women.
Also, Women, Work & Community will host a target marketing workshop Monday, March 28 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Madawaska Middle/High School library.
This free workshop will help you decide how to describe your business, products, and services; develop a plan to produce the marketing materials you need to promote your business, craft a message that speaks to your customers, and set up communication systems to keep your core customers coming back to your business.
Pre-registration is required, and there is no fee for the workshop. The class is open to women, men, and all entrepreneurs interested in improving their business marketing skills. For more information or to register, call 764-0050 or e-mail erica.quineaster@maine.edu.
