Brush up on business basics and get on solid ground this spring with a three-week business planning workshop offered by Women, Work, and Community. Starting on May 9, the Basics of Starting a Business class will meet on Mondays from 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center.
Those thinking of starting a business, this three-session workshop will answer questions, discuss pros and cons of being an entrepreneur, and help you take the first steps. The class covers the basics of writing a business plan, marketing and market research, and financial cash flow planning.
Erica Quin-Easter, Microenterprise Coordinator for Women, Work and Community in Aroostook County and the trainer for the workshop, notes that “Whether you’re just starting to put your entrepreneurial idea into action or want to improve your marketing and finances for your new business, this workshop will help you get on track with a strong business plan.”
The Basics of Starting a Business workshop is open to women, men, couples, and all entrepreneurs. The workshop is suitable for those who are thinking about starting their own business, current business owners who are in the early start-up phase, or business owners who want a refresher on planning for successful business operation or expansion.
