Sen. Jackson receives Solidarity Award

AUGUSTA — Sen. Troy Jackson (D-Allagash) received a Solidarity Award from the Maine Labor Council-United Steelworkers on April 21. President Patrick Carleton of the Maine Labor Council presented the award to Sen. Jackson.

“I was honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Sen. Jackson. “I think the true heroes are the ones who go to work every day and stand up to create better working conditions for everyone.”

In presenting the award, President Carleton applauded Sen. Jackson for his “extraordinary leadership on behalf of working people.” Also at the event were three members of the United Steel Workers from Madawaska (Local 365) Eric Daigle, Regan Roy and Steve St. Jarre.
