CRESTVIEW, FL & PRESQUE ISLE, ME – Dixie A. Langley, age 72, passed away April 27, 2011, at home, after a brief illness. She was born on September 6, 1938, in Centerville, NB, Canada, and moved to Crestview, Fla., in 1995, from Maine.

She was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Crestview & the Wesleyan Church in Presque Isle.

Marvin and her family were the love of her life. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and children at church.

Dixie was predeceased by her parents; a daughter (Peggy Sue), her step-father (Basil Wright), and three brothers.

Surviving children are:  Marvin (Ricky) E. Langley, Jr. and his wife, Grace, Roger D. Langley and his wife, Cindy, Randy L. Langley, Steven P. Langley, Heidi J. Langley, Roderick W. Langley and his wife, Lisa, and Troy W. Langley. Brothers and sisters include: George (Sonny) Doherty and his wife, Edith, Wiley Doherty and his wife, Shirley, Reta Gustin, Ruth Barnes and her husband, Philip, Carol Anne Manson, Mary Jane Caron, and Basil Robert Wright and his wife, Leslie.

Dixie also leaves a special aunt, Dollie Dyer; and a grandson, (raised by Dixie and Marvin) Ryan and his wife, Jessica and their son, Raygen; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and special friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 29, at Woodlawn Baptist Church, with Pastor George Katzman officiating.  Brackney Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements. Gifts may be made in Dixie’s memory to the charity of your choice.
