On Saturday, May 21, the Caribou Historical Society, The County Federal Credit Union and the John T. Noble Company, will join in hosting members of the County Red Hats and Friends to the second annual Red Hats and Friends Luncheon at the VFW Hall in Caribou.
According to Joseph Bouchard, president of the historical society, “There are more than 500 Red Hat members in the state and the organization has chapters nation-wide.”
Guests at the Red Hat Luncheon will enjoy chicken stew or fish chowder, prepared and served by the staff from Mary Jo’s Cafe followed by a program featuring local talent.
All proceeds from this event will go to help with the costs of shingling the historical society’s school house and to remodel the restroom in the main museum, making them handicap accessible.
The cost for the afternoon affair is $12 per person.
“If you see a Red Hat in your travels on May 21,” reminds Bouchard, “make sure you say, ‘welcome to Caribou,’ we hope you enjoy your visit.”
