Registration for the 31st annual Madawaska River Run begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 15 and the race begins at 11 a.m. Don’t be the last one to arrive and unload, the line gets very long, very quickly.

Registration for the popular and always entertaining river run, sponsored by the Stockholm America Legion will take place at the Little Madawaska Lake bridge at 9 a.m. with the race beginning at 11 a.m.

The 5.3-mile course begins at the Little Madawaska Lake bridge and finishes as participants cross under the bridge in Stockholm in front of the Stockholm American Legion Post Home.

Awards are presented to river run finishers with the best times in their respective categories. Refreshments are available at the post home. For anyone not willing to brave the icy waters of the Madawaska River — put on your woolies, grab a hat, (and depending on the weather between now and then, have some bug spray close at hand) bring the family and — don’t forget your camera. The scenery on a sunny day is something to remember and better yet, regardless if the sun is shining or not — there are bound to be some scenes that warrant “capturing on film.”

Entry fee for the annual race is $12 which includes one commemorative T-shirt. Additional shirts are $12 each.
