PT Donald Scott    LINNEUS – Donald “Donnie” Darrell Scott, 74, died Sunday, June 5th at his home while surrounded by his family. Donnie was born October 15, 1936 in Cary Plantation, the son of Walter and Tressie (Wilcox) Scott.
Donnie was an avid and ardent lover of the woods all his life and deeply enjoyed hunting and trapping. He especially loved to spend time on the “home farm” in Cary. Donnie made his living working the woods most of his life, and also worked seasonally on potato farms for many years. Donnie worked for the International Boundary Commission for 14 years before retirement. He was a loving and passionate husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, as well as a wonderful friend to many people and neighbors. Donnie and Linda always welcomed everyone into their home, and the door was always open. Many remember the time when Donnie would sit in his home and tell enthusiastic stories of adventures from his younger days, where he would elaborately describe events that took place while recounting all the names involved, and he would laugh merrily at the end of the story. In his more vibrant days, Donnie was a great storyteller, loved keeping up on world news  and current events, and loved picking fiddleheads and berries.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda (Stewart) Scott; their six children, Donald “Donnie” and his wife, Doris, Pam Sawyer and her husband, Mark, Danny and his wife, Tammey, Gary and his wife, Donna, David, Jonathan and his wife, Margaret, all residing in Linneus; grandchildren, Chris, Jesse, and his wife, Cheryl, Amanda, Lizz, Levi, Donnie, Daniel, Fay, Amelia, Sabra, Justus, and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Craig, Jesse, Jordis and Dustin; brothers, Roger, Charles and his wife,  Gerry, of Houlton; sister-in-law, Aleta Shea and her husband, Larry, of Brewer; brothers-in-law, Gene and his wife, C.J., and Dana and his wife, Debbie, of Houlton; his dear good friends of many years, Wayne and Bonnie Dwyer, Ralph and Judy London and their families. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Lawrence and Gary Scott and grandson, Dustin Scott.
