Easton offers summer programs

The Easton Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for all summer 2011 activities.

Programs have gone out through the elementary and junior high schools and additional copies are available at the Easton Town Office. If you are unable to make the scheduled registrations dates, please make an appointment by calling 551-7737 or e-mailing eastonrec@myfairpoint.net.

 

Hershey Track & Field

Hershey is held in all 50 states and promotes physical fitness, participation, friendship and sportsmanship. Practices will be held on June 7 and 14 from 2:45-4 p.m. at the elementary school. Attendance at practices is required to participate in the regional meet. Open to ages 8-13 as of Dec. 31, 2011. Please contact Hillary at the Recreation Department to register.

 

Swimming Lessons

Swim lessons will be held at the Presque Isle Indoor Pool and are open to those ages 4 and older. Students will be split by abilities. Lessons will be held each Friday from July 1 through Aug. 5 at 9 a.m.; we’ll depart from the Hall at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $22 ($18 for each additional child).

All other lessons will  be 45-50 minutes, unless specified.

 

Rec calendar

Wednesday, June 8 — Junior activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Zumbatomic class from 2:45-4:15 p.m. at the elementary school. Major League baseball in Washburn at 5:30 p.m. Carpool from the Hall at 4:45 p.m.

Thursday, June 9 — Summer registration from 9-11 a.m. at the Easton Town Office. Father’s Day craft at the Hall after school until 4:15 p.m. Minor League practice from 5:30-6:45 p.m. on the field near the tennis courts. Zumba starting at 6:15 p.m. at the Hall.  *Please note the change of location for this class only.

Friday, June 10 — Zumba Gold from 8-8:50 a.m. at the Hall. Last Junior Activities 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall.

Monday, June 13 — Senior Mystery Progressive Lunch starting at the manor at 11 a.m. We will be eating our way around Easton; you never know where we may end up! Garden Group has been cancelled for today only. Zumba at 6:15 p.m. in the elementary school gym.

Tuesday, June 14 — Election Day. Zumba Gold at the Hall from 8-8:50 a.m. Hershey Track & Field practice from 2:45 to 4 p.m. at the elementary school. Softball games: Fire Department vs. Recreation Department at 6 p.m. and River de Chute vs. Dan Ferris, Inc at 7:15 p.m.
