CARIBOU, Maine — Susan White, principal at the Caribou Middle School, recently announced the names of the May Students of the Month.
Conner Spencer, a member of the sixth-grade class at CMS was selected as Student of the Month for May by her teachers Ms. Sarah Lajoie and Mrs. Cathy Bouchard.
The team teachers said, “Conner is an extremely gifted young lady. She is involved in the strings music program at CMS as well as the Gifted and Talented program. She is a highest honor roll student and strives to work hard each and every day. She is also involved in athletics, participating in the spring tennis team and the rec basketball teams. We enjoy watching Conner as her middle school years pass,” they added.
Nick Pelletier, a sixth-grade CMS student was chosen Student of the Month for May by his teachers Mr. Pelletier and Mrs. Dionne.
“Nick has grown academically this year,” stated the team teachers. “He is an extremely kind and thoughtful young man who is well-liked by his peers. Always ready to give a helping hand to both his classmates and teachers, Nick keeps busy playing basketball and soccer at the recreation department. He is a member of the Key Bank Little League team and on the weekends, he enjoys going four-wheeling,” they added.
Caleb Hunter, a seventh-grade CMS student was named Student of the Month for May by his teachers Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mr. Steve Perreault, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Ms. Shelley Richardson.
“Caleb takes an advanced math class and is a member of the Developmental Assets Team. An active member of the Caribou Middle School, participating in cross-country running and skiing, track and band, he is always willing to help others, is very kind and seeks out the good in everyone,” stated the CMS teachers. Caleb is also involved in Boy Scouts.
David Hunter, a member of the CMS seventh grade, was named Student of the Month for May by team teachers Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Rhinebolt, Ms.Richardson and Mr. Perreault.
The CMS teachers stated, “David is involved in several school activities including track, band and both cross-country running and skiing. He also takes an advanced math class and is on the Developmental Asset Team. David enjoys learning new things and is very helpful around the school and he is also involved with Boy Scouts,” they added.
Kirsten Haley, an eighth-grade student at CMS, was named Student of the Month for May by her teachers Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia.
“Kirsten was chosen for this award because of her willingness to help others and her ability to set an example for all who attend CMS. She is a member of the CMS cheerleading squad, orchestra and drama club; is a Girl Scout as well as an active member in her church youth group. She is always willing to help a fellow classmate or teacher, often without being asked,” stated her teachers.
“Kirsten is a wonderful role model to all students and sets a great example regarding schoolwork and the treatment of fellow schoolmates, teachers and adults,” they added.
Greg Martin, is a CMS eighth-grade student who was named Student of the Month for May by his teachers Mr. Barnes, Mrs. Dow, Mrs. Sleeper, Mr. Barnes and Mr. Fantasia.
“Greg has been a member of the wrestling team for each of his four years at CMS. He has also been a member of the soccer team for two years and is currently on the track team. Greg has been on the honor roll and is seen by his teachers as a cooperative and polite student in his classes,” said his teachers.
