Pelletier earns CPCU designation

Chantal Marie Pelletier has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) by The Institutes. This announcement was made by Peter L. Miller, CPCU, president and chief executive officer. The Institutes are an educational organization that confers the CPCU designation on persons who complete eight rigorous courses and examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements. All CPCUs are required to maintain and to improve their professional knowledge, skills and competence through their commitment to The Institutes’ Code of Professional Ethics.

bu-mmg pelletier-clr-cx-sh-26 The CPCU professional designation is internationally recognized as the property-casualty insurance and risk management industry’s premier credential. Those who hold the CPCU designation are among an elite group of professionals who are dedicated to serving their clients, customers and industry.

Chantal began her career at MMG Insurance in February 2005 as a personal lines data entry operator. In 2006, she became part of the Customer Service Department, in the position of customer service representative. In April 2010, she was promoted to senior customer service representative.

She graduated from Northern Maine Community College in 2004 with an associate in applied science degree in legal office administration. She holds a state of Maine Property and Casualty Agent’s License and is a 2010 graduate of the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Young Professionals Institute. In addition to earning the CPCU designation, she has earned the following insurance-related designations: Associate in General Insurance (AINS), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Associate in Personal Insurance (API), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), Associate in Customer Service (ACS) and Professional in Customer Service (PCS).

Chantal resides in Easton with her husband Matthew and sons Zachary and Mason.

The designation will be formally conferred at a ceremony in Las Vegas on Oct. 22. The conferment will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting and seminars of the CPCU Society.
