by Lois Downing
Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 0233 of Houlton, met at the Aldergate building on High Street for its Friday, July 29 meeting. Fifteen ladies were present with three being KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly). We gave a warm welcome to Gerry McAfee, who has been absent for several months due to surgery.
Denise Clark, leader, was present and led the meeting using the new microphone. The loser of the week was Janice Shaw with runner-up Dellie Bennett. Margaret Hagerman won the skinny dish. The next meeting will be at the Gateway near the bridge. We haven’t met there since last year.
Denise announced this was the last week for the Catch a Falling Star contest. Members are asked to please bring in a skit for next week; one will be chosen for the fall rally to be in Presque Isle early in October. For the program, Denise read some facts about meats, beans and seafood and a vegetarian diet.
