Momentum AroostooK, a local networking organization focused on providing Aroostook County residents with professional and social events that highlight the advantages of working and living in northern Maine, received the REALIZE!Maine Champion Award (pictured) in the fall of 2009 from the Maine Development Foundation for its efforts to create opportunities for young people in northern Maine. Momentum Aroostook was the first networking organization based in a rural area to receive this statewide award of excellence. After being on rotating display, the award is being permanently installed at Northern Maine Development Commission. The award was officially handed over to Robert Clark (left), executive director of Northern Maine Development Commission, by Scott Violette, Momentum Aroostook Steering Committee chair, in early August.
