LADNER, Lois J., 78, EASTON, August 19, 2011. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Homes, Presque Isle.

EASTON – Lois J. Ladner, 78, made her final trip on August 19, 2011. She was tired and wanted to go HOME. Lois was born November 2, 1932, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Adonis and Mamie (Morrison) Ladner.

Lois graduated from Easton High School in 1950, and then from Bob Jones University, with a degree in home economics in 1954. She received her Masters Degree from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Lois was a teacher for many years in Derry, NH. She then became the Home Economics coordinator for the city of Nashua, with four schools under her supervision.

Lois was involved in many areas of ministry, including teaching Sunday School, doing Bible studies, directing vacation Bible schools and speaking at several Christian Women’s groups. If  you couldn’t find her in Easton, you could find her at her other favorite spot, her camp at Rumney Bible Conference, that she purchased in 1964. She spent many wonderful summers there, being active in many of the camp’s activities.  Her love of traveling took her overseas 25 times, the latest trips being, China in 2006 and Wales in 2007.

Her surviving family are many, including her sister, Elizabeth Martin, and a nephew, Von Perry, both of Easton, grandnieces: Tori Morefield and Amy Lowery; grandnephews: Justin, Andrew and A.J. Perry; seven great-grandnieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a nephew, Rev. Steven Perry.

Relatives and friends called at the Easton Wesleyan Church, from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday. Funeral services were conducted, 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, at the church in Easton, with Rev. Rob McDowell, Pastor Vaughn Martin and Rev. Larry Sullivan officiating. Interment was in the Estes Park Cemetery in Easton. Gifts in her memory may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, P.O.
