A vote for rural traditions
To the editor:
Question 2 on the November ballot is an important issue for all the people of Maine.
A “yes” vote will put a full spectrum of Mainers to work, not only horseman. Given the uncertain economic time we live in, we need to take action and help all our neighbors.
I have been actively involved in harness racing for over fourteen years, a highly valuable industry to the state of Maine. It has given me the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the finest people in Maine. More importantly, however, it has helped to support my family and provide employment, both direct and indirect, for thousands of other Mainers. Please preserve Maine’s rural traditions and vote for “the way life should be,” jobs and hope for everyone.
