Easton students spend the day gatherting GPS data

On Monday, Sept. 26, eight of the students from Mrs. Giles’ class in Easton worked with the University of Maine at Presque Isle and officials from the town of Easton to collect GPS data.

One of the coordinators from UMPI was Michele Hersey. Participants had lots of fun.

Birthdays/anniversaries

On Oct. 12, Kay Roades, James Kearney and Sammie Yoder all have a birthday.

On Oct. 13, Kim McAdam Hall and Jayden Blackstone-Eye will have a birthday to celebrate.

Brain White, Katrina Martin, Allison Dhuy and Nathaniel Littlefield will all turn another year older on Oct. 14.

On Oct. 15, C.J King III, Randi Ladner and Norma Jean Triola all have a birthday.

On Oct. 16, Ann Osgood, Mike Milbury and Jake Flewelling will be celebrating their birthdays.

On Oct. 18, Jason Ennis, Roy O. Flewelling and Rhoda Johnson all have a birthday.

Rec T-shirts available

T-shirts are currently for sale through the Easton Recreation Department. The cost is $10; youth and adult sizes are available.

Zumba

 

Zumba™ with Zumba Toning™ will resume through the Easton Recreation Department beginning on Oct. 11 and continuing through Nov. 17. The cost is $35 for once a week and $60 for two classes per week. Class will be held in the Easton Elementary School Gym from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pre-registration is required and can be done at the Town Office. The instructor has a limited supply of Zumba Toning Sticks to use for the class. If participants wish to bring light weights, 1-3 pounds, they can do so. If participants wish to purchase toning sticks, they can contact Theresa Bonner at 488-6859 for more information.

Zumbatomic classes (Zumba for kids) will resume on Thursday, Oct. 20, and run weekly through Dec. 16. The cost is $16 per child. Class will start directly after school at the Hall.

Rec calendar

Wednesday, Oct. 12 — Junior activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Boys’ grades 5 and 6 tournament in Presque Isle; first game is at 4:30 p.m. Participants leave Easton at 3:45 p.m. from the Hall.

Thursday, Oct. 13 — Girls’ grades 5 and 6 tournament in Caribou; first game is at 4:30 p.m. Players will  leave Easton at 3:15 p.m. from the Easton Elementary School.

Zumbatomics was scheduled to start today but is postponed until next week. Classes will start on Oct. 20.

Zumba Class from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. in the Easton Elementary School Gym.

Friday, Oct. 14 — Junior activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m.

Seniors’ Lunch & Pamper Day Reprise — now that the kids are back to school, the seniors’ group can get back to business. Today participants will be spoiled with massage chairs, paraffin wax dips, foot soaks and more; starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor. Please bring $2 towards the cost of lunch.

Saturday, Oct. 15 — Fifth and sixth grade NMCRA Soccer Tournament in Madawaska, carpooling from the Hall at 9:30 a.m., with the first game at 11:45 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 17 — Senior Nutrition Class starting at 11 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor.

Cooperative Extension after school until 4:15 p.m. at the Hall. Open to grades 1 and up.

Tuesday, Oct. 18 — “Come & Play” after school until 4:15 p.m. at the Hall for grades 1 and up.
