SCHOOL PLAY
Washburn District High School’s Senior Play “Ten Actors in Search of a Cell Phone” was a fun presentation to watch, as the Stage Manager, played by Jacob Reed, tried to get the school play under way. Brandy (Tia Dee) was a high school student that wouldn’t let the play start until she found her cell phone. What followed was not only a quest for a cell phone, but a trip through a tangle of who said what to whom — and a very funny look at how gossip gets started and where it goes. Pictured are, front from left: Katie (Marcella Cheviot), Nicky (Lara Scott), Brandy (Tia Dee) and Toni (Marlaina Spooner). In the back are: Chris (Nick Gumprecht), Kevin (Chase Chandler), Trey (Duayn Sparks), Stage Manager (Jacob Reed), Tony (Jeremy Hartsgrove) and the Pizza Delivery Boy (Zachary Davis). The play was directed by Mrs. Robin Thurston. Others that helped included Shania Tasker, assistant director; Michaela Bragg, manager of audience services; Taylor Thompson, assistant manager of audience services; Kalsey Churchill, production manager; and Caitlyn Roix, assistant production manager.
LET THE PLAY BEGIN — Brandy (Tia Dee) tries to stop an argument between Nicky (Lara Scott), left, and Tony (Jeremy Hartsgrove) as Stage Manager (Jacob Reed) stands in the background — hoping to get the school play under way as the Washburn District High School Senior Class Play took place on Friday, Nov. 18.

The Kindergarten class at Washburn District Elementary School collected non-perishable items and brought a “giving” basket to the Town Office to help those who are in need. Mrs. Skinner’s class has been doing this for the past eight years. She feels it really helps instill the spirit of giving. Pictured are in front from left: Jazlyn Daigle, Elijah Colon, Chelsea Hobbs, Castor Mendoza, Brady McPherson, Mrs. Doody, Tyler Boyd and Mrs. Deeves. Second row: Nylah Drake, Sierra Ulrich, Piper Campbell, Roegen Carney, Nevaeh Clark, Hilary Driscoll and Jason Ulrich. In back: Mrs. Skinner and Mrs. Morrow.
