    SANFORD – Jeanette E. Chambers O’Clair, age 76, of High Street in Sanford, ME, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at the H. D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine after a long illness. She was born in Moro Plantation in Moro, Maine, March 3, 1935, the daughter of Whitney G. and Opal Mae (Condon) Chambers. She had lived in the Sanford area for the past 25 years of her life.
    Jeanette loved animals of all sorts and sizes. She raised horses for many years, and in her older years could be seen feeding wild squirrels and chipmunks while they sat in her lap.
    Jeanette had many talented gifts, playing guitar and being an avid artist among them. Her artworks included wood working, wood burning and oil paintings, which she often gave as gifts. She loved to play a good hand of cards but mostly loved and enjoyed her grandchildren.
    She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, India Marie McMahon Tavares in 2003. Surviving are her only child, Gloria McMahon and husband, Dennis, of North Berwick, Maine, a brother, Terrance W. Chambers and his wife, Edith, of Durham, ME, a sister, Simone Vitkus of North Haven, CT; two grandsons, Whitney P. McMahon and Dennis R. McMahon III; three great-grandchildren, Joseph K. Tavares, Whitney K. Tavares and McCarey R. McCatty and several nieces and nephews.
    Graveside memorial services will be held in the spring at the Knowles Corner Cemetery in Moro Plantation, Moro, ME. Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME. Condolences may be sent at www.JohnsonFuneralHome ME.com.
