Halfway Home Pet Rescue President Norma Milton says that Maxwell, an approximately 7-month-old cat residing at the shelter, is not happy being in a cage, “although he kisses and purrs in hopes of talking his way to freedom.” Maxwell has been wormed, received parasite prevention treatment, has received his Leukemia/AIDS test, sterilization and rabies shot. Today, the cat is slated to undergo the last step toward adoptability — receiving his distemper shot. Maxwell will be placed in the social room with other cordial adult cats so he can visit and play with his new friends. “Maxwell is very friendly, loving, clean, happy and talkative,” Milton said. “He still has a lot of kitten tricks and creates a good time for himself — he’ll make a lovely pet for any family including young children or elderly parents.” Maxwell’s adoption fee is $25.
