BANGOR – Douglas “Dougie” William Jacobs, age 65, died at Eastern Maine Medical Center on January 16, 2012 after a short illness. He was born August 23, 1946 in Lincoln, ME, to Elton William Jacobs and Hilda Elden (White) Jacobs.
On December 31, 1981, Douglas married Pamela Leigh (Malone) Jacobs. Douglas lived in Haynesville where he worked in the woods logging with his brother, Eugene Jacobs. In the 1990s he started driving tractor-trailer as a owner operator.
Douglas will be especially remembered for his sense of humor, hard work, and his love and devotion to family and friends.
Survivors include the love of his life and wife, Pamela Jacobs; daughter, Debbie Carll; daughter, Stephanie (Jacobs) and son-in law, Joachim Kisilywicz; daughter, Tiffany Jacobs and significant other Jason Millett; grandchildren, Austin and Breea Carll; siblings, Desmond and wife, Loretta Jacobs, Barbara (Jacobs) Aldrich, Eugene and wife, Gloria Jacobs, Heber Ridger, Shirley and husband, Gary Bickford, Martha and husband, Clyde Warman, Becky Jones, Elton and wife, Lori Jacobs; sisters-in-law, Mildred Malone, Peggy White; and several nieces and nephews; many special friends including Rex Malone, Mahlon Nason, and Sonny Conlogue; and his dog, Babe. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Hilda (White) Jacobs, Joan (Jacobs) and husband, Jr. Ellingwood.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date, and relatives and friends are welcome.
