Members of the Ashland Tillikum Chapter 99, Order of the Eastern Star, celebrated Christmas together with a party, dinner and ornament auction Dec. 16.

The chapter also held a raffle for a “Stocking Stuffer Basket,” which contained a turkey and all the trimming for a Christmas feast, as well as a large selection of stocking stuffers from toys and trinkets to candles, holiday ornaments, candies and over $200 in gift cards generously donated by local Ashland merchants.

Gretchen Brissette drew the name of John Dsupin of Nashville Plantation as the lucky winner. Congratulations Mr. Dsupin!

Among those attending included Donna Martin, Peter Martin, Sheila Buckingham, Worthy Matron Heather Clark, Andrea White and Halle Baker.

Proceeds from the ornament auction, as well as the dinner and “Stocking Stuffer Basket,” will benefit chapter charities in 2012.

Graduates from basic training

Air Force Airman Andrew R. Libby recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Libby, a 2010 graduate of Ashland District High School, is the son of Polly and Scott Libby.
