Statewide Ice Fishing Derby casts off March 3-4

    The Sebago Lake Derby, scheduled for Feb. 18-19, was cancelled by organizers due to unsafe ice conditions. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes have been rolled into the prize pool for the statewide Ice Fishing Derby being held on March 3-4.
    This includes the $100,000 bonus for any contestant lucky enough to land the state record togue during the derby. More than 80 guaranteed prizes are valued in excess of $20,000.
    Prizes are paid for the largest pickerel, pike, muskie and togue landed during the event, as well. There is a $1,500 Kittery Trading Post gift certificate door prize just for entering, with even small fish eligible to win scores of prizes.
    The Maine Statewide Ice Fishing Derby is operated by the Sebago Lake Rotary Club along with other clubs and organizations across Maine. All proceeds to various charities chosen by these organizations.
