I do believe the future of tomorrow comes from the dreams of today. Like T.E. Lawrence explained in the prompt [“All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible”], there are two types of dreamers. Some who only dream while sleeping, and some who bring their dreams to reality in order to brighten the future of tomorrow.

In the novel “Dating Hamlet”, Ophelia believed the only way she would be happy was if she and Hamlet were intertwined. Ophelia dreamed of her future with Hamlet every day. When all the lies and deceit were going on in the court of Elsinore, Ophelia and Hamlet had to act in order to make their dreams of being wed a reality. At the end of the story, Ophelia and Hamlet were indeed successful. I believe the reason for this is mostly how greatly the dreamed of being together forever.

I was young when I first learned Martin Luther King Jr.’s story. My class and I were taught about how Martin had a dream. His dream was that all people, people of all colors and religions, would one day live together peacefully. By night was not the only time Martin dreamt. Even through all the criticism and hatred, he never gave up on trying to make the world a better place. His most famous speech, “I Have a Dream”, will forever be remembered by the inhabitants of America. If Martin Luther King Jr. had never stood up for what he believed in, society would not be where it is today.

The future of tomorrow does come from the dreams of today, in my opinion. Dreams consist of goals you set for yourself and dreams that happen at night while sleeping. Without dedication to goals, we wouldn’t have successful economies. You have to want to do something with your life, not just sit around and have no ambition for anything. Fostering goals and dreams set for oneself is the theme of the novel “Dating Hamlet”.

In “Dating Hamlet”, Ophelia had dreamed big to stay with Hamlet. In the series of events, they had to overcome any obstacle put in their path. Ophelia and Hamlet had been committed to each other, so they would do anything it would take. By having that set in stone, goals and dreams were accomplished by not doubting themselves or thinking otherwise.

Being a younger sibling has made me prove to myself that I will set my goals and dreams accordingly instead of following the path my brother had chosen. With the help of my wonderful mother to guide me through some obstacles has led to my desire to set enormous goals and dream big, with the confidence that I can do it.

I believe that self confidence and making goals will lead to a successful life, so that the future of tomorrow does come from the dreams of today.
