According to Jenny Coon, director of the Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce, plans are under way for the Annual Recognition Dinner, which will be held on Friday, May 4, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center beginning with a social hour at 6 p.m. and dinner/awards at 7 p.m.
Coon stated that things are being done a bit different this year compared to award presentations made in the past. “We have received our nominations for the different awards, our selections have been made and this year the recipients will know in advance that they will be presented with the awards. It’s difficult to keep everything a secret and at the same time try to make sure that everyone who would like to see these individuals receive their awards be notified.
Those Caribou residents (and their awards) who have been nominated and selected to receive recognition awards during the May 4 annual dinner include the following.
Spirit of Caribou — Rob Kieffer, Dwight Stickles and Marvin Hedstrom; Business of the Year — CS Management; Citizen of the Year — Doug Hunter; Lifetime Achievement Award — Carol Pierson; and receiving the Downtown Caribou revitalization Award will be Sandy and Dave Marrett, owners of Works of Heart.
Tickets for the evening are $20 and may be purchased at the Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce or by calling 498-6156. All ticket confirmations/ RSVPs must be received by April 30.
