North Country Animal Hospital in Caribou recently donated $500 to Joyce Knorr, Aroostook County branch manager for the American Red Cross – Pine Tree Chapter to help the Red Cross with urgent financial support toward disaster relief. According to Knorr, within the past month, the American Red Cross office in Caribou has assisted 14 families during their greatest time of need with immediate emergency disaster services and support costing thousands of dollars. This assistance included the recent fires in Fort Kent. “It’s local responses like theses that demonstrate how important Red Cross services are to the local community,” said Knorr. The Red Cross has been reaching out to individuals and businesses for critical financial support to help them assist local victims of disaster who have suffered from devastating home fires throughout Aroostook County.
