    PRESQUE ISLE — April vacation will be a busy one for the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department.

    Monday, April 16 is contest day at the Rec Center. Children grades 1-6 will participate in a variety of games including ping-pong, connect four, checkers and more from 9-11:30 a.m.

    On Tuesday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Pine Street School field kick ball will be held for grades 3-6. If it rains the event will be moved to the Rec Center.

    The County dodgeball tournament will be taking place at the Rec Center. The tournament is double elimination starting at 9 a.m. with two divisions, grades 3-5 and grades 6-8.

    The Peanut Carnival highlights Thursday. From 1:30-3 p.m. all kids grades K-6 are invited to partake in carnival games using gold coins. At the end of the carnival they may cash in their coins for a goody bag. The $1 admission not only includes starter coins, but also a chance to win a bike donated by the Dead River convenience store.

    Friday will be a morning of Wiffle Ball for grades 3-6 at Riverside Park. That event is from 10-11:30 a.m. If it rains gym games will be played at the Rec Center. Friday is also dollar day at the Indoor Pool from 1-2:45 p.m.

    The week after April vacation the recreation department will be hosting Pitch, Hit & Run by Aquafina and MLB. It will be held Friday, April 27 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the pool field.  For more info please contact Brad Boyles at 764-2545.
