Three more Mars Hill queens crowned

    The Pre-Teen, Junior and Teen Miss Mars Hill Pageant was held on Saturday, April 7, at the Community Center. Following the opening routine, the girls competed in casual wear, talent and evening wear.

    Mars Hill’s five queens for 2012 lo-mhpageantqueens-cx-sh-16 are pictured following the pageant on April 7. Pictured are, in front from left: Pre-Teen Sydney Garrison and Little Miss Ellen Billings. In back are: Teen Miss Courtney Milliard, Miss Mars Hill Olivia Garrison and Jr. Miss Kelsey Dominique.

    Sydney Garrison was the first contestant for the Pre-Teen contest. She sang “Pink Guitar” for her talent. Sydney was crowned Miss Pre-Teen Mars Hill 2012.

    Olivia Pelletier performed a vocal selection and dance to “It‘s a Hard Knock Life” for her talent.

    Lydia Miller performed en pointe ballet dance to “Dirty Dishes” as her talent. Lydia was named Miss Congeniality and the first runner-up.

    Winners in the Pre-Teen Mars Hill 2012 Pageant were, from left: lo-mhpageantPreTeenWin-cx-sh-16 Jillian Tweedie, second runner-up, Pre-Teen 2012 Sydney Garrison and Lydia Miller, first runner-up.

    Meagan Willis did a dance/hula hoop routine to “Tootsie Roll” as her talent.

    Claire Gebhart sang “Mayday Carol” as her talent.

    Jillian Tweedie sang “Imagine” as her talent. She was named the second runner-up.

    The Junior Mars Hill Pageant began with Ivy Davis, who danced to “Crazy in Love” as her talent. She received the award for High Ticket Sales.

    Natasha Klinger entertained with an a cappella rendition of “A Little Bit Stronger.”

    Kailyn Stitham performed a cappella “American Honey” as her talent. She was named the second runner-up.

    Nikki Gebhart played a piano selection entitled “The Maple Leaf Rack.” She was named the first runner-up.

    Kelsey Dominique performed a clogging routine to “We Found Love” as her talent. Kelsey was named Junior Miss Mars Hill 2012.

    Hunter Nicholson did a song and dance to “ROCK in the USA.”

    The Teen Miss Mars Hill Pageant began with Courtney Milliard, who sang “Outside My Window” as her talent. She was crowned Teen Miss Mars Hill 2012.

    Shannon Scully performed a tap dance to “Jumpin‘ Jack.”

    Jordan Canney entertained the audience with her dance routine.

    Also providing entertainment for the evening were Miss Pre-Teen 2011 Lillie Mahan with a clogging routine to “Don‘t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” Junior Miss Mars Hill 2011 Noelle Bailey sang “Airstream” and 2011 Teen Miss Mars Hill Stephanie Dame sang “Set Fire to the Rain.”

    This was another great group of talented, beautiful young ladies.

    The winners will spend the year representing their community, including competing in the Maine Potato Blossom Pageant in July.
