PRESQUE ISLE — US Airways flight 4753, traveling from Presque Isle to Boston on Saturday, April 21, was delayed when a passenger became disruptive.
“On April 21, while preparing to board US Airways flight 4753 at Northern Maine Regional Airport, a woman identified as a white female by the name of Marangely Torres, 21, of Brockton, Mass., became disruptive,” said Officer Lynn Hartley, responding officer with the Presque Isle Police Department.
Hartley indicated Torres was able to regain her composure and was allowed to board the plane. Once on the plane, Torres again became disruptive, with the flight crew bringing the plane back to the terminal, where law enforcement personnel were waiting.
“As the plane began to taxi toward the runway, Ms. Torres became disruptive once again by getting out of her seat and failing to comply with the airline staff. The pilot made the decision to return to the gate,” said Hartley.
Hartley boarded the plane and removed Torres. Torres was summonsed for disorderly conduct and released. Her court date was set for June 20, in Presque Isle.
An online flight status report indicated the flight was delayed about 25 minutes. No information was available on what Torres was doing in Presque Isle.
