Mrs. Thomas H. Briggs, mother of Chester L. Briggs who lost his life overseas in World War I and for whom the Chester L. Briggs Post, American Legion is named, lays a wreath at Evergreen Cemetery on Memorial Day as a tribute to her son and in memory of all Houlton heroes of all wars.
