Nickerson earns degree
    FARMINGTON — Led by a procession of University faculty, administrators and dignitaries to the moving music of a local bagpipe group, 387 University of Maine at Farmington bachelor’s and master’s degree recipients, marched this morning, Saturday, May 12, in the 2012 UMF Commencement Ceremony.
    Haley Nickerson of Houlton received her bachelor’s of art in social enterprise.

Caron collects diploma
    WILLIMANTIC, Conn. — Eastern Connecticut State University’s 122nd Commencement took place at the XL Center in Hartford on May 15. In all, 1,230 undergraduates and 88 graduate students earned their degrees.
    Hunter Caron of Houlton, ME, graduated with a degree in economics.
    Eastern Connecticut State University is the state’s public liberal arts university. Eastern serves approximately 5,600 students each year on its Willimantic campus and satellite locations.

Hovda named to dean’s list
    LONGVIEW, Texas — Benjamin Hovda of Littleton was recognized for outstanding academic accomplishments by being named to the LeTourneau University Dean’s List for the Spring 2012 semester.
    Hovda achieved a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.99 for the semester.

Ritchie receives degree
    HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University conferred degrees on approximately 1,200 graduates Saturday, May 12, at the university’s spring commencement exercises. Among those receiving their degrees was Kimberly D. Ritchie of Houlton, who earned a degree in nursing.
