PATTERSON, Stephen G. “Steve”, 67, PRESQUE ISLE, at Burlington, MA, May 23, 2012. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.

(Farnham) Patterson, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA, after an extended illness. He was born April 3, 1945, in Presque Isle, the son of Alfred “Gus” and Constance (Laflin) Patterson. Steve attended Ashland and Presque Isle schools and was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School.

    Mr. Patterson served in the Maine National Guard during and after high school and was married to Linda L. Farnham on June 19, 1964. Steve was co-owner of Steve Patterson and Sons, Inc., Presque Isle, a business he established and built from the ground up by his hard work ethic, his “never give up” spirit and his desire to help others.

    Steve’s family was the center of his universe, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his love and friendship. He was proud to know that his strong work ethic was passed to his children, and never being one to quit, Steve fought to the end.

    Mr. Patterson was predeceased by his father, Alfred “Gus” Patterson in 1991.

    He is survived by his mother, Constance (Laflin) Patterson; his wife, Linda L. Patterson, both of Presque Isle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven L. and Kimberly Patterson of Caribou, Eric L. and Mary Patterson of Fairborn, OH, Christopher and Crystal Patterson of Mapleton; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and David Weeks of Presque Isle; three brothers, Daniel Patterson and his wife, Denise of Cape Cod, MA, David Patterson of Clearwater, FL, Joseph Patterson and his wife, Mariah of Augusta; one sister, Constance “Nan” Carmichael of Easton; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Weeks and his wife, Andrea of Presque Isle, Nicholas Weeks and his wife, Alyssa of Glenburn, Karina, Mallory and Jacob Patterson, all of Caribou, Brandon and Brittany Patterson, both of Fairborn, OH; several nieces and nephews.

    In keeping with Mr. Patterson’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private memorial gathering was held at his home and private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
