Levesque running for Maine Senate District 34

    ASHLAND — Dan Levesque has announced his candidacy for Maine State Senate District 34. Levesque, a Democrat, is focused on helping the local economy, fighting for affordable health care and working to provide proper funding for Maine schools, including trade schools.

    “I’m running for Senate to fight for the families and small businesses of District 34,” said Levesque.  “I’ll use my business experience to bring some common sense solutions to Augusta. Please give me your vote and we’ll move Maine forward together.”  POL-Levesque-clr-cx-sharpt-20

    Dan Levesque has served on the Ashland Town Council, the Board of Directors for Portage Hills Country Club and was the former president for the Ashland Snowmobile Club.

    Levesque has played an active role bringing in funds to build the Industrial Park, a co-generation plant and spec building to Ashland. He also served as the vice chairman for the $16 million project to reconstruct 58 miles of highway along Routes 11 and 212.

    Levesque was employed in the lumber industry for over 35 years. He worked with his family’s lumber business, Levesque Lumber, which was later bought by Fraser Papers. In 2001, Levesque became vice president of Lumber Divisions U.S. & Canada. After 10 years with Fraser Papers, he became the owner and operator of an Internet provider company and office supply store in Presque Isle.

    Levesque attended Ashland schools from third to twelfth grade, and then went on to join the National Guard in 1977.

    Levesque is married to Kathy Levesque, and they have three children.

    District 34 includes: Ashland, Masardis, Oxbow Plantation, Chapman, Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield, Easton, Westfield, Central Aroostook Township, Mars Hill, Blaine, Bridgewater, Monticello, Littleton, Hammond, Houlton, Ludlow, New Limerick, Smyrna, Merrill, Moro Plantation, Hersey, Dyer Brook, Oakfield, Linneus, Hodgdon, Crystal, Island Falls, Cary Plantation, Amity, Sherman, South Aroostook Township, Glenwood Plantation, Haynesville, Orient, Weston, Bancroft, Reed Plantation and Macwahoc Plantation.
