    Swimm, Barbara M., 83, May 29, 2012.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment held in the Foster Cemetery, Monticello.     MONTICELLO – Barbara Marie Welch Swimm, 83, passed away May 29, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born April 21, 1929 at Monticello, the daughter of Forrest and Roxie (Murphy) Welch.
    Barbara lived most of her childhood in Bridgewater. She was a great storyteller. We loved hearing about the old days. Barbara was an avid Red Sox fan and loved watching all the Eastern Maine Basketball Tournaments. She was a member of the Monticello Methodist Church, playing the piano for the Sunday services. A lifetime member of the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum, Barbara was happy to play the old player piano, give tours and help with suppers. She was also very active in the Bridgewater Historical Society and a member of the Mistletoe Club in Monticello. All who knew Barbara will testify, she was always there when someone needed her.
    Barbara is survived by three daughters, Roberta Hogan, Lorraine Kinney and friend, Denny Gallop, Lynne McNinch and husband, Daniel; eight grandchildren, Jon Bridges and wife, Tami, Lori Jewell and husband, Allen, Morgan Kinney and friend, Kate, Brady Bridges, Paul Albright and friend, Brandi, Jacob Hovey and friend, Amanda, Jirad Kinney and wife, Kim, Lucas McGary and wife, Kaitlyn; fourteen great-grandchildren, Miranda, Alexys, Ethan, Erica, Little Morgan, Devin, Graden, Gabe, Kristopher, Kennedy, Katie, Mayce, Dawson and Harper; three great-great-grandchildren, Karle, Charlie and Camden; several brothers and sisters-in-law; special nieces and nephews, Jean Smith, Margaret Wiken, Ken Tidd, Jim Beckett, Andrew Tidd, Kathy and Kurt Kinney, Craig Anderson and his wife and their sons, Jeremy, Matthew, Scot and Christopher, her best friend, Joyce Lynds; many cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Swimm, infant son, Thomas Edward Lawrence, sister, Vella Welch Tidd, and brother, Ira Murphy.
    Friends called Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Paula Lilley officiating.
